ERP + shop floor

The shop floor is not a separate system next to the ERP

In Digital WorkMate, scheduling, operators and machines work with the same orders and operations. What happens on the floor is in the ERP immediately.

From scheduling to machine and back

Many companies connect a separate MES or time registration system to their ERP. That means interfaces, duplicate master data and delays. In Digital WorkMate, the shop floor is part of the same platform.

  • No interface between ERP and shop floor to maintain
  • Scheduling recalculates based on actual progress
  • Hours, consumption and scrap directly in actual costing
  • Operators only see their own operations, by priority

What operators and planners use

  • Shop floor terminalsAvailable

Fixed workstations with login by PIN, QR badge, NFC or phone, linked to operations and stock locations.

  • Operator work listAvailable

Operations by priority per operator; start, park and complete with automatic time registration.

  • Consumption, good/scrap and confirmationsAvailable

Book material consumption and good and scrapped quantities with scrap reason from the floor, with confirmation steps where needed.

  • Attendance and timesheetsAvailable

Clocking in and out, timesheets with approval and leave requests.

  • Digital work instructionsAvailable

Step-by-step work instructions per operation, product or revision, with measurement steps and tolerances; operators record results on the shop floor, a failure can block the order or start a non-conformance report, and the order list shows the status.

  • Finite-capacity schedulingAvailable

Automatic priority-driven scheduler with ASAP and JIT scheduling, dependencies, critical path and a drag-to-reschedule Gantt chart. Per department you set a priority per production order, the Gantt shows department colours and filters on workplace, department and user, and a planner work list shows the operations of a user's workplaces. An operation without planned time does not block scheduling.

  • Hours, progress and actual costingAvailable

Actual times, consumption and scrap per operation; planned versus actual and the cost per good piece.

  • Quality (NCR, audits, confirmations)Partial

In-process quality control with measurement steps, tolerances, photos and checklists recorded by the operator, with a configurable frequency (for example every first piece or every N pieces). A rejected step can block the operation, block a lot or start a non-conformance report (NCR). Non-conformance reports and audit schedules as task board templates; no SPC charts and no incoming inspection at goods receipt.

Start, park, done

An operator starts an operation from the work list; time registration runs automatically and stops when parking or completing.

Good and scrap

Good quantities go to stock (or a lot), scrap is recorded separately with a reason such as dimensions, material defect or machine error.

Logging in without hassle

PIN, QR badge, NFC or logging in via the phone: configurable per terminal.

Machines report back themselves

With the DWM Monitor, state, running times, cycle counts and alarms from CNC and OPC UA machines come in directly, without manual registration.
