Ten more orders: more people or less walking?
Ten more orders per week. Need more people? Maybe first look at where the people you already have actually walk. Suppose a picker spends half of the day on the move, and every order gets its own round. Then with every extra order he walks the same aisles again.
A calculation example. Three pickers, 7 hours a day. If you pick several orders in one round, each into its own tote and in route order, and that saves 20% of the walking, that is 483 hours a year. If you grow 20%, you need about 970 extra picking hours. So half of that is absorbed without hiring anyone.
This is not about making people redundant. It is about them not losing their time to walking. Digital WorkMate uses wave and cluster picking for this.
Indicative calculation example, €45 per hour. Not a customer result.
