One piece of steel, booked twice

20 October 2026 · Inventory

One piece of steel, issued from stock twice. The warehouse picks it for the production order. Production then books it off again itself. On paper the material was used twice. In the warehouse it is still there.

A calculation example. 500 production orders a year, 2% with a double booking: 10 orders. A stock correction costs 4 hours of investigation at €50 plus €200 of material. That is €4,000 a year, and until the count is done your stock is wrong.

In Digital WorkMate you create a pick order directly from a production order, with the operations you want. Each pick line belongs to the material it covers, so picking and manual booking do not issue the same stock twice. Several pick orders print as one overview, grouped by type.

Indicative calculation example. Not a customer result.
