How many lines do you retype from CAD?
How many lines does someone retype from the CAD system? The designer has finished the BOM. The production planner types it in again, line by line, with part numbers spelled slightly differently. That is not a craft, that is retyping.
A calculation example. 120 bills of materials a year, 40 lines on average, one minute per line. That is 80 hours a year, about €4,400 at €55 an hour. Plus the errors you only meet at purchasing.
In Digital WorkMate you read in a bill of materials from a STEP file, a CAD BOM export (including SolidWorks and Alibre) or an Excel list. Part numbers stay as they are, and characters such as Ø and ° come in correctly. Importing a product also works without revision fields: the system creates the first revision itself.
Indicative calculation example. Not a customer result.
